Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical habits that help keep gambling a form of entertainment, and it explains what this site can and cannot do for someone who wants to cut back or stop. Gambling is for adults aged eighteen and over only, a restriction repeated throughout this site, including on the front page.

A few habits keep the stakes under control

  • Decide the amount before you start. A limit chosen in a calm moment holds up better than one chosen mid-session, when wins and losses distort judgement.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. If you think of it as the price of the entertainment, losing it costs nothing extra, and you are not tempted to win it back.
  • Never chase a loss. Each bet is independent of the last, so raising stakes to recover money only enlarges the hole when the odds go against you again.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Credit and loans add interest and repayment pressure to a loss, turning a bad evening into a debt that lasts months.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away interrupts the rhythm of play and gives you time to notice how much time and money have gone.
  • Involve someone else early. When gambling stops feeling like entertainment, telling a person you trust makes it harder to hide the problem from yourself.

Account controls live at the destination, not here

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one on, check one or enforce one. If you want any of these, arrange them inside your own account at the site where you gamble.

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Independent help is linked on every page

Every page of this site, this one included, carries links to five independent gambling-help organisations:

  • BeGambleAware
  • Gamble Aware
  • Gambling Therapy
  • G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
  • NCPG

These are the only non-commercial outbound links on the site. Unlike operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow them.
